Disassembly of the Anycubic 4Max Pro Printer.

Overview

The case of the printer consists of a number of large plastic panels attached to an inner metal frame by screws and clips. This section describes the removal of these panels to gain access to the innards of the printer.

Removal of the Base

The electronics for the printer are housed in its base. These can be accessed by turning the printer upside down and removing its base. This involves:

  • Peeling off the four rubber feet.
  • Remove the 4 screws that were under these feet (Hex M3 x 8mm).
  • Remove the 4 screws halfway along each edge of the base (Hex M2.5 x 10mm).

Once the screws are removed the base of the printer should lift off. This exposes the electronics in the base.

Removal of the Back Cover

Before the back cover can be removed the filament run-out sensor must first be taken off.

The filament run-out sensor is secured to the back cover by two Hex M2 x 16mm screws. Unscrew these and lift the filament run-out sensor from the back cover. Disconnect the cable from the filament run-out sensor so that the sensor can be put aside.

The back cover is secured to the frame by eight Hex M2 x 10mm screws.

Unscrew these and then lift the back cover off the frame starting from the printer base. Feed the filament run-out sensor cable through the hole in the cover as you remove it.

Removal of the Sides

Each side panels of the printer is secured by 4 screws and a number of plastic tabs.

The first step in removing a printer side panel is to remove the four Hex M2 x 4mm screws along the bottom of the panel.

Once the screws are removed the side panel is still secured by tabs at the top and front of the panel. There are 3 tabs on each side. Starting at the top of the panel gently prise the three tabs there free of the top panel. Once free, it should be possible to release the side panel from the front panel.

Removing the second side panel is the same operation as for the first.

Removal of the Top Panel

The top panel is secured to the printer frame with nine Hex M2.5 x 6mm screws and two tabs.

First unscrew the nine fixing screws. Then rotate the top cover towards the front to release the two tabs located there.

Once the top cover has been removed the printer touchscreen is exposed.

Removal of the Front Panel and Door

The final panel on the printer is the front panel which includes the door. This is secured to the printer frame with eight Hex M2.5 x 6mm screws.

Once the screws have been removed the front cover can be lifted from the frame. The cable to the ON/OFF switch on the front panel will need to be disconnected to fully remove this panel.
